Babette Blume
About
Salutations! My name is Babette Blume. I am a fine artist and illustrator with a Bachelors degree in Art and Illustration. My preferred medium is oil paint as I find nothing can quite match its creamy texture and saturated colors. When I am not painting, one can expect to find me hurrying about the kitchen baking croissants or crouched in some remote corner of my home indulging in the latest Chinese drama. I also insist on rousing myself three times a week before the sun stretches its rays over the tree tops to complete my morning run. This habit gives me ample energy to complete my artistic endeavors.

Why I Make Art
I create art in an attempt to tread upon paths seldom stirred. To expand and not to limit. That is the goal. Change is rippling through our world faster than it ever has before. Although times like these may seem frightening, one can also see it as an opportunity to welcome in new ideas to better equip ourselves for a new world where we may also thrive. I believe that people have, for a long time felt that change is necessary. That something is off with our manner of existing. We have been too afraid, instead cramming this knowledge deep within while allowing an age of distraction to run our lives. Using my art, I hope to invite people to contemplate ideas which can inspire positive change and alternative ways of living.
Ideas have the power to mature and come to life through our actions . Every creation in the world began as an idea. A painting is no different. An idea which may one day materialize. Thus, I strive to create paintings which encourage people to see the potential our world has to be a better place. To mold our world with ideas which are not only beautiful to look at but also thought invoking. No matter how wild the idea, remember that every invention and every movement, began as an idea. Every invention would have seemed like fantasy to people centuries before being brought into existence. So too, may we reinvent the world through our ideas.
