For this poster, I was told to create a poster in the style of Art Nouveau. My intent was to highlight some traditional Japanese practices. Although Japan has some very advanced technology (including toilets that clean your bottom) it places a strong emphasis on retaining old traditions. Tea ceremonies and wearing Japanese kimonos are two such traditions. Amidst the hustle of modern day life we are surrounded media bombarding us with what is considered new, trendy, and cool. Will our thirst for consuming ever end? Perhaps it can do us some good to harken back to what once was. Traditions that create community and an appreciation for the old.
